Ep. 9 | A Man Who Meditates
In this episode, Jerod dives into why meditating on scripture is so vital to our christian walk.
Our next speaker is a man who I often describe to people in this way: “If you cut Jerod, he will bleed the Psalms.” Here’s a man who loves the Word of God, because he loves the God of the Word. His example of faithfulness in ministry and his care for me personally over the years have been a great encouragement. He’s going to speak to us about being men who meditate on the Word of God, and I know you will be blessed!
After serving eight years as the college and equipping pastor at Faith Bible Church in Spokane, Washington, Jerod Gilcher came to Christ Community Bible Church of Arlington, Texas in January 2019. He serves CCBC as Lead Pastor/Elder.
His ministry passions include expository preaching of the Word of God, equipping and mobilizing believers for the work of ministry, training the next generation of pastors and elders in the church, as well as teaching theology and the Biblical languages in the church.
Jerod and his wife Sarah have been married for 14 years and have three girls. Jerod enjoys time with the family; learning languages; spending time with Muslims; reading thick, dense books of theology; traveling; the Boston Red Sox; In-N-Out burgers; and big cups of strong, black coffee.
He holds a B.A. in English literature with a minor in Japanese from Eastern Washington University and a Master of Divinity degree from The Master’s Seminary in Sun Valley, California. He is currently working toward a Ph.D. in Old Testament from Gateway Seminary in Ontario, California.
